So what is the Welsh 3000 challenge? In a word, tough. Seriously tough. This challenge is in a different league to other common mountain challenges such as the 3 Peaks and is most certainly not for the faint-hearted. To complete the Welsh 3000 challenge, you’ll need to summit the 15 highest mountains in Wales in just 24 hours using nothing other than your own legs, grit and determination.

Completing this challenge is truly a great lifetime achievement and something to remember for the rest of your life. The route involves over 4100 metres of ascent as well as some pretty technical sections, including the infamous Crib Goch & Tryfan.

Situated in the quiet western Caucasus mountain range Mt Elbrus (5642m) is Europe’s highest mountain. Technically straight forward it is a popular choice for a first or second ascent of one of the world famous Seven Summits. Although this ascent uses chairlifts to assist altitude gains, Elbrus remains a challenging mountain to all who attempt it. The trip also includes an ascent of Mt. Cheget (3450m) as part of the acclimatisation process. Further acclimatisation days will enable you to get used to the equipment (such as crampons and ice axes) that will be needed on the glaciated terrain.

Our expedition begins in arguably the finest wildlife hotspot on earth, experiencing colourful Tanzanian culture, and bizarre and unique high-altitude environments, before arriving on the roof of the Continent.

While the most popular routes up Kili are over-crowded, Fitways takes the quieter, little-known, yet arguably most spectacular Lemosho route. A trek of epic proportions, this trip takes you up the Everest Base Camp trail and deep into the Himalayas, before crossing the renowned Cho La pass into the Gokyo region. From soaring 8000m peaks to shining glacial lakes this trek covers an incredible diversity of landscapes.

Because of the altitude and the terrain this is no walk in the park, the pass itself involves crossing the top of the Cho La glacier over hundreds of metres of ice. It’s a real mountaineering experience requiring technical equipment and experienced guides.
